FLORADEX — PRIVACY POLICY

Floradex turns the plants around you into a collectible card game: photograph a
plant, identify it, and add it to your living dex. This policy explains what the
app collects, why, and who it is shared with. We collect as little as we can to
make the game work.

THE SHORT VERSION
Floradex works without an account — you don't sign in. The photos you take and
the places you find plants are the heart of the game, and by design they can be
shared with other players on a community map and feed. To identify a plant we may
send your photo to a plant-identification service. We don't sell your data.

Floradex is operated by Wonders AI, Inc. ("Floradex," "we," "us"). Questions

WHAT WE COLLECT, AND WHY

  Plant photos.
  When you photograph a plant, the app uses that image to identify the species.
  Identification runs on your device first; when an on-device match isn't
  confident enough, the photo may be sent to a third-party plant-identification
  provider (see "Third parties" below) to get a result. When you save a find, the
  photo is uploaded to our backend so it can appear in your dex and, as part of
  the shared game, on the community map and feed.

  Location.
  With your permission, and only while you're using the app, Floradex uses your
  location to tag where you found a plant and to show plants other players have
  recorded in nearby parks. The location of a saved find may be stored with that
  find. You can turn location off anytime in iOS Settings; the app still works,
  with reduced map and tagging features.

  Motion & fitness.
  With your permission, Floradex reads your device's step count and walking
  distance to show you a recap of each outing — how far you wandered and what you
  found. This builds your walk summary.

  Nearby players (local network).
  If you use the social features, the app uses the local network to discover
  other Floradex players physically near you so you can connect with a tap. This
  is used only for that peer discovery.

  Saving to your photo library.
  If you choose to save a plant photo, the app writes that image to your device's
  photo library. The app does not read or browse your existing photos.

  Device & technical information.
  To operate the service and deliver notifications you've enabled, we process
  basic technical data such as a device identifier and, if you allow
  notifications, a push notification token.

HOW YOUR FINDS ARE SHARED WITH OTHER PLAYERS
Floradex is a shared, community game. Captures you save — including the plant,
its photo, and the location or park where you found it — may be visible to other
players as part of the public map and feeds. Please don't capture anything you
wouldn't want shared. You can avoid sharing a location by declining the location
permission.

THIRD PARTIES WE SHARE DATA WITH
  • Plant-identification providers — to identify a plant we may send your photo to
    Plant.id (Kindwise, https://web.plant.id/privacy-policy/) and/or Pl@ntNet
    (https://plantnet.org/en/legal-notice/). They process the image to return a
    species result.
  • Supabase — our backend provider, which hosts the database and photo storage
    for your saved finds.
  • Apple — for app distribution (including TestFlight during the beta) and for
    delivering push notifications.

We do not sell your personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

STORAGE & RETENTION
Your saved finds and their photos are kept for as long as needed to run the game.
Because Floradex has no accounts, finds are not tied to a personal login. To have
data associated with your device removed, contact rockinbinbin@gmail.com.

SECURITY
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to our backend
is governed by row-level security rules. No method of transmission or storage is
ever perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

CHILDREN
Floradex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us
information, contact us and we'll remove it.

YOUR CHOICES
  • Turn camera, location, motion, local-network, or notification permissions on
    or off anytime in iOS Settings.
  • Decline location to keep your finds' locations off the shared map.
  • Contact us to request removal of data associated with your device.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we'll revise the
"Last updated" date above.
